Framing of our Avalon home has begun!
This beautiful weather the past few weeks has allowed us to make some great progress on lot 176. As you can see from these photos, the foundation walls have been poured and we have started framing.
As you can see from these photos, I elected to do poured concrete walls as opposed to block walls because this home will feature a ‘conditioned crawlspace’. For more information on exactly what a conditioned crawlspace is and why it is an indication of better construction, check out our blog post entitled, “Why a “Conditioned Crawlspace?”.
We anticipate taking about 3 to 4 weeks to frame the house, depending on how many dry days March gives us! We will then move to roughing in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, as well as installing exterior windows and doors. Have I mentioned that this spec home will be “Energy Star” rated as well as certified by the “National Homebuilder’s Association’s ‘Green Home Program'”? More to come about these cool features in future blog updates.
I have also attached a floor plan and front elevation of the home. I will continue to keep you updated as we progress!
